C'est avec ce site que j'ai repris le contact avec une personne qui a beaucoup d'importance pour moi.

Les autres ont disparu dans la tourmente de la guerre, après la guerre ou se sont tues pour de bonnes ou de mauvaises raisons.

Mais l'histoire vaut d'être racontée.

Parce qu'elle concerne aussi des anglophones et que je n'ai pas le temps de faire une traduction précise, je vais utiliser les services des  outils linguistiques de Google pour proposer une traduction simultanée à leur usage. C'est parfois comique, mais j'espère qu'ils comprendront l'essentiel.

With this site I have regained contact with a person who has great importance for me.

The others have disappeared in the turmoil of war after the war have fallen silent for good or bad reasons.
But the story is worth telling.

Because it concerns also english speaking persons and I do not have time to make an accurate translation, I will use the services of Google language tools to offer a simultaneous translation on their use.
It is sometimes funny, but I hope they will understand the essentials.

J'ai découvert l'existence de J.M. Forman en 1967 à l'occasion d'une émission de télévision : « Les Dossiers de l'écran ».

Cette émission, populaire, réunissait après un film « grand public » des témoins ou des experts à propos du sujet du film.

A l'occasion d'un film sur la seconde guerre mondiale intervint un général canadien.

Ma mère suggéra à mon père, puisque nous possédions un badge d'identité, de demander, via la télévision française, à ce général des informations sur un pilote qui avait séjourné, en 1943, dans une ferme que possédait mon grand-père, Pierre Virlogeux, à Pernier dans l'Allier.

 

I discovered the existence of JM Forman in 1967 at a TV show: "Les Dossiers de l'écran".
This show, very popular, proposed a film, and after this witnesses or experts gave their views about the topis of the film.
In a film about the Second World War, was  a Canadian general.

My mother suggested to my father, because we have his identitybadge, to request, via the French television, this general information about a pilot who had stayed in 1943 on a farm owned by my grandfather, Pierre Virlogeux to Pernier in Allier.

 

Victime des dommages collatéraux causés par les bombes incendiaires larguées par un avion Stirling volant au-dessus de lui, le Halifax dont John M. Forman était le bombardier de queue et qui participait, le 15 septembre 1943 au bombardement des Usines Dunlop de Montluçon, s'écrase, au coeur de la Forêt de Tronçais (Allier) au :lieu-dit « La Bouteille ». Victim of collateral damage caused by the incendiary bombs dropped by a Stirling plane flying over him, the Halifax whom John M. Forman was the tail gunner and who was participated, on 15 September 1943, the bombing of Dunlop Factories Montluçon, crashed in the heart of the Forest Tronçais (Allier) at a place called « La Bouteille » (« The Bottle »).. Grièvement blessé à la colonne vertébrale au moment du crash, J.M. Forman va séjourner pendant plusieurs semaines dans une ferme appartenant à mes arrières-grands parents au « lieu-dit » Pernier (voir la carte). C'est pendant période, au cours de sa convalescence que sont prises ces des photos:
